PLA escapees fear for life

Seven People’s Liberation Army (PLA) personnel, who fled from Fourth Division of PLA’s Paribartan Smriti Brigade at Hattikhor in Nawalparasi, have demanded security, saying that they were facing threats from the Maoists. Appraising the matter to UNMIN, human rights organisations and leaders of political parties, they appealed to them to protect their lives. The seven PLA personnel, hailing from Tanahun, Lamjung, Gorkha and Makwanpur, fled from the camp on August 21 after unbearable torture meted out to them by seniors, said a escapee, Deepak KC of Ghasikuwa-5.
